Our Yard

Yard 001.JPGYard 002.JPGYard 005.JPGYard 006.JPG

I am so thrilled with how our garden in the back yard turned out. We have wanted this for several years now and it feels so good to have it done! We had a neighbor dig the beds and mulch it and then we planted everything. It took us an entire saturday. Dave picked all of the plants and he really did a great job. Everything except for the tree that was already there is an evergreen so we can enjoy it all year long. The one empty corner is going to be our vegetable garden. We are going to plant peppers, tomatoes and beans and maybe squash if there is room. Don’t miss the pictures and please let us know what you think!

I had a photography class at Yowell Meadow Park and it was so much fun! The kids had a good time playing on the playground and feeding ducks and the other women (Lynnie, Stacy, Jennifer) and I were able to get some cute shots! Lynnie taught us some great things that I will try to be aware of when I am taking pictures from now on. I wanted to share some of the Pictures I took with everyone! I did play with some of them in photoshop and added effects. I can’t wait for the next class!

We had a great time in Puerto Rico! The resort was so nice. It was huge. There was a casino, lots of stores and a waterpark. There was also a marina. We went to the water park one day and had a great time going on the slides and relaxing in the lazy river. You had to take a ferry over to Palamino Island to go to the beach and we did that twice. It was so pretty. The water was so clear. We were able to take a little hike up a hill and made it to the other side of the island and there were quite a few shells and pieces of coral. My favorite activity that we did was hiking in the rain forest. It was an amazingly beautiful place. I would love to live in the rain forest! There were so many different types of plants, trees, moss and flowers. I also was able to go underneath of a huge waterfall which was a really neat experience. Dave and I also had a neat spa day. We got a spirit of life treatment which included a scalp massage, an herbal rub and brush massage and mini facial. We also go foot massages. The spa was so nice. We worked out in the gym and did the steam room and hot tub prior to our treatments. The hot tub had 2 waterfalls that if you sat underneath felt so nice. It was like a mini massage! The food was amazing. One night we went up to a horse ranch and got to watch the horses perferm. They were beautiful creatures. We had dinner in an open air house that I would have loved to live in! It was so pretty. Puerto Rico was a beautiful place that I hope to take the kids to someday. It was a very relaxing vacation and I am so thankful that my mother was able to watch the children and that my mother in law was also able to help!
